 If you’re a student

I love talking with students about my work. But before you send me questions:

  1. Please make sure you’ve read the book. I don’t have time to tell you what’s in it.

  2. Please ask questions that have answers you can’t learn from the book. Often, these will be my opinions on things. For example, “Would Alexander Hamilton have made a good president?”

  3. Please remember that my job is to write books. I also teach and give talks. Doing your homework is not my job, but I am happy to help you out if you’ve done everything you can on your own first.
