I'm Martha Brockenbrough, and I'm a writer, teacher and mom who lives in Seattle.

I'm glad you stopped by, and hope you're interested in learning more about my projects:

The Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar: I founded SPOGG in 2004 as a fun way of teaching my students grammar. I write stern letters to public officials and celebrities who abuse the mother tongue, and I keep a daily blog about language.

The Cinemama on MSN: I write movie reviews and columns about family films. I've learned that people get very offended if you say bad things about "Grease."

Encarta.com: Every month I write a column about something fantastic and wonderful about our world. I've covered everything from grammar to gravity, and even subjects that do not begin with the letter G.

It Could Happen to You: Diary of a Pregnancy and Beyond: This book tells the story of my first pregnancy. I've continued the tales at The Mommy Chronicles. You can also find an essay of mine in It's a Girl: Women Writers on Raising Daughters.

Stay tuned for a really cool new project that starts in November! I'll tell you more then.
